Big Phat
11:30am to 12:45pm

Last year, Open Streets was lucky enough to have members from the Hamilton Blues Society perform on our North End Stage at Burlington and James North.  Back by popular demand, John Crawford and front-man Joe Rebernik are joining forces to perform under their new name as Big Phat.

Big Phat is concentrating on their original musings, howbeit they still do covers the Big Phat way. The group is an 8 piece band that gives a big fat sound from the stage and a sound that adds heart and soul to everything they play. Big Phat is turning heads wherever they play and are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

Big Phat will be spreading the blues from the North End Stage in a double-set starting at 11:30am!  Don’t miss them!

Trio Arjento
1:00pm to 1:45pm

Trio Arjento is a smooth, complex, and heady blend of musical styles and influences; scotch whiskey for the ears.
Their soulful, fragile, exploratory sound mixes jazz, blues, and singer-songwriter traditions to create musical tapestries where every note tells a story.
Marcy Hull’s warm, wise, and sultry voice is complemented by the intuitive counterpoint and improvisational chemistry of Jennifer Lockman’s piano and Tom Shea’s guitars.

Trio Arjento’s smooth sounds will follow Big Phat’s moody blues on the Open Street North End Stage at 1:00pm.

The Chocolate Crayons
2:00pm to 2:45pm

We are a fun eclectic duet, with playful covers and quirky original music, a gentle mix of sun and rain. We will be playing an electric piano, and an amplified guitar as well as singing.

The Chocolate Crayons are also a part of Spark Society and will open for them on the North End Stage at 2:00pm.

It sounds great too! In his solo shows, Dave incorporates quirky original material, that push his rhythmic and lyrical ideas, with surreal solos on his musical toilet. In summary, he likes experimenting with sound and levity.

Dave will also be donating “the Passion of Bobby Bedeque” cd to Open Streets.  A hamilton music award nominated memoir of Dave’s experiences and observations of living in Prince Edward Island.  A mixed bag of quirky and political folk.  (Retail value $10).

The song is everything.
The attitude is not.

Music is a game of survivors and Steve Sinnicks is nothing if not here to stay.

If you live in Southern Ontario, there is a good chance that you have seen Steve Sinnicks on stage. Steve plays pubs, clubs, campuses and festivals almost 365 days a year. Lefty, labour–side and not interested in who knows it, with the trio or solo, no two gigs are the same.

Original songs and acoustic shows … anywhere draft beer or solidarity can be found.
